One identified challenge in the black community is the inability to ask for help. We are conditioned from childhood to believe that asking for and/or needing help is a sign of weakness. We often experience feelings of hopelessness and thoughts of worthlessness that, in some cases, can be traced to a particular moment in time. The session, “Clearing the Static”, will explore common sources of these road blocks and provide practical information and tools to help navigate and overcome them. Join us as Dr. McClean, N.D. creates a safe space to explore and debunk the stigma associated with mental illness in our community, identify behaviors that may lead to mental illness, and provide effective ways to rid the mind of the static caused by common issues such as anxiety, depression and stress.
